WELCOME

The Great Rotary Duck Race (GRDR) is an annual community-wide fundraising campaign coordinated by thirteen distinct Rotary Clubs serving Lane County, Oregon. The GRDR is committed to providing financial support to selected community-based child maltreatment prevention/intervention programs. We are the largest collaborative fundraising campaign by Rotarians in the county, the largest raffle in the state of Oregon, and the second largest duck race event in the country. Over the past twenty-three years, the GRDR has sold over a million ducks (raffle tickets) resulting in over $5 million dollars invested in our local community to end child maltreatment.

A MESSAGE FROM MAMA DUCK

Child maltreatment is preventable!
As community members, we share the responsibility to make a difference and change the future for so many children experiencing or are at risk of experiencing one or multiple forms of maltreatment (neglect or physical, emotional, psychological, sexual abuse). Changing the future, in large part, requires compassionate support and encouragement for parents and caregivers. No one is born a perfect parent! No caregiver should ever be made to feel awkward or uncomfortable for reaching out and asking for guidance or help. It is the sign of great strength and courage to recognize our own limitations and look for ways to improve our skills and abilities, particularly when they involve caring for the youngest members of our community. We have the knowledge and expertise to prevent child maltreatment. This information and teaching must be widely shared and diligently applied across generations in order to break free from this devastating cycle that has impacted us all for far too long.

Thank you for your sustained dedication and commitment to supporting families in our community!
